March News & Updates

Mar 3, 2021

MARCH EVENTS
On Wednesday, March 17 we will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Have your children wear green and we will transport them on a magical journey to find the pot of gold! There will be leprechauns and all sorts of surprises. Maybe even some green food!

The last full week of March we will be celebrating March Madness and basketball in our own fun way. If Michigan loses early, the fun will come to a quick halt.

SPRING BREAK
We will be closed for spring break on April 1 and 2.

OUTSIDE PLAY
As the weather continues to improve, we will be going outside more and more often. Quite often it is very wet outside, and the kids need to change their clothes when they come inside. Please make sure they have complete changes of clothes, including socks and shoes. This is the time of year that even though it is 50, we still have to dress them in outdoor gear. A super time to be a preschool teacher!

TAX ID NUMBER
38-3169721
You will probably file your taxes sometime soon, so I thought you might need our tax identification number. The magic number is 38-3169721. Use it in good health, and I hope you get money back and do not owe a thing.

STAFF VACCINATIONS
All the teachers at CCC have received their 2nd vaccination as of March 2nd! We are so excited and happy to have them!

PRESCHOOL MUSICAL
This month I will begin the process of selecting a book or story that I will use to write the preschool musical. Once that story has been selected, the rehearsals will begin around the beginning of April. All preschool children will have an opportunity to be in the production. I typically teach all the children all the songs and lines. I have found this process to be the best approach. Especially if all of them stop singing or talking at the same time, at least there is usually one child who will still go on. If someone expresses an interest in having lines of their own, I of course will honor that, but they always have a backup!

The production dates are tentatively set for June 3 and 4 at 5:30 pm. At this time, I do not know if the production will take place outside or in the gym on the stage. As we move forward and the COVID guidelines are updated we will make a decision. In either case, the entire experience is a blast and provides for some of the best comedic moments!

Once the show is selected then I will let you know my costume ideas and any help we need building or designing the set and making costumes. We will post sign-up lists for parents who would like to work on any of the show committees.

The Friday night performance is usually followed by a family potluck. We will assess the feasibility of that as we get closer. This is an amazing event and always brings such joy to all of us. I have an agent from Broadway who can’t wait to see it and he will help decide the dates for our national tour. I will keep you posted as the dates for the tour are decided. We will need parent help to assist with loading the truck for the national tour!
