December News & Updates
This time of year is always a time for reflection on the journey that we travel as a community. A year of miracles, hope, loss, love, faith, stress, and generosity. I am full of gratitude for all your support of CCC, its staff, our program, and this incredible community. Together we have made it to the end of one of the most difficult chapters of our lives.
I am inspired by all of you. Times can be so hard for many of us, and the world outlook can be so scary, but it helps to be a part of a community that is there for you during the good times and the bad. This year together we made a difference in the lives of so many children and their families. As we applaud our past successes, let us look ahead with renewed visions and energy to continue to make an impact.
We move forward with hope and always remembering that everyone deserves respect, kindness, and dignity! Read more about our plans this holiday season.
Holiday Shopping Spree
Dana Sutton Meyers has organized a holiday shopping day for the children at CCC on Wednesday, December 16. Our preschool, toddler, and school age kids will be able to select gifts for their family from a selection of donated and handmade items. Gift boxes and tissue paper will be provided for their gift selections. This is a FREE holiday shopping spree for the kids!
Book Exchange
The preschoolers and toddlers are going to have a used book exchange that will be part of a holiday game we will play. Every child should bring in a used book wrapped in holiday paper for the exchange by Thursday, December 17. We will do the exchange on Friday, December 18!
Holiday Video
December at CCC is always filled with anticipation and preparation for the annual holiday party. This event is yet another loss in a long string of cancelled events and parties. However, we plan to bring you a holiday video compiled of songs, stories, and holiday fun. It won’t be the same as getting a chance to all be together, but it will be a chance to connect with each other in a different way.
The Giving Tree
Every year the staff and community at CCC adopt several families to help fill their Christmas wish list for the holidays. This year, we are adopting 4 families. This is a great way that we as a small community can give to those less fortunate. It is always so exciting as the gifts start to pile up! Click the "Holiday Giving Tree" Button at the top of the page for more information about how to participate.
Mark Your Calendar
We will be CLOSED for our holiday break: December 21 – January 3. We will re-open on January 4 with our regular schedule.
All of us here at CCC wish all of you the best during the holiday season. As we bring this year to a close, let us hope that we are progressing towards peace, compassion, and love for all. You all mean the world to me, and I am forever grateful. Happy Holidays!
Fondly,
Laurie Atwood
