Dear Summer Campers,
Plans for Summer Camp 2010 at CCC are well underway and we are in a position to announce our camp program and accept deposits for Summer Campers. We will have 35 spaces available for school age children, age’s kindergarten (those who have completed kindergarten this year) through fifth grade.
The summer program will resemble the format of last years. We will have three components to the camp and they will be arts, sports, and theater. Each element will have a performance aspect involved in its design. Every child will be able to participate in all three facets of the program. The theater element will include the production of a musical this summer, which is our annual fundraiser to support our scholarship fund for homeless and disadvantaged children in our community.
The camp will begin on Monday June 21st and run for ten weeks concluding on Friday Aug. 27th. The starting date is tentative in case the Ann Arbor Public Schools extend their school year to compensate for snow days. We will update any changes as necessary as we get closer. We are planning to camp at Cedar Lake for our week of overnight camping. The camp is about twenty minutes west of Ann Arbor in Chelsea and the camping dates are tentatively set for July 19th-23rd. We cannot confirm the camp dates at this time because they are completely an electrical wiring project and the date of completion has not been determined.
The cost for summer camp at CCC is $200.00 per week and there is a $275.00 activity fee. This activity fee will cover the costs of their weekly field trips and their overnight camping week. You must commit for the entire ten weeks of the program. Below is a registration form for the summer camp. Your registration form must include a $100.00 deposit, which will be applied to your first of three payments. The first payment will be due on Monday June 21st and will include the first two weeks of camp as well as your activity fee ($675.00 total less $100.00 deposit). The second payment (4 weeks of camp) will be due on Monday July 6th, and your third payment will be due on Monday August 3rd, (4 weeks of camp). Your deposit will be due on Friday Feb. 27th. All summer slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Any slots that are not filled after that date will be opened to new enrollees and campers.
The expectation for attendance in the ten-week program is that your child will attend full time. This does not mean that you can’t take occasional days off for long weekends and special trips; however it does mean that you should not miss an entire week unless it is very early in the program or after the show. Fridays will typically be days that you can miss. We will plan the majority of our field trips on Thursdays and rehearsals will be on Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
We will keep you updated as to further developments and plans as we get closer to summer. The entire summer calendar and packet of information should be available around the first week of June.
